“Global Compass” is the first series from Economist Films, a new initiative that expresses The Economist’s globally curious outlook in the form of short, mind-stretching documentaries. Each of the five films in the series captures the voice and identity of The Economist, providing rigorous analysis of current affairs with a global perspective. The five films cover prison reform, the right to die, health-care provision, drugs policy and alternative energy—and examine how different countries around the world are responding to these difficult policy challenges. Which countries are leading the way and pioneering new approaches from which others can learn?
